Every Halal1 product is individually halal certified. Here is how we develop them and who audits them.

Halal from the start

We develop every Halal1 product ourselves, ensuring it is halal from the very beginning: from the recipe and selection of raw materials to production. Every single product is certified by the World Halal Union (WHU), an independent auditing and certification body for halal products.

Standardisation

There is no single, internationally recognised halal standard. Requirements vary from country to country. The WHU certifies according to the following internationally recognised standards:

OIC/SMIIC 1:2012 (DHB-TS OIC/SMIIC 1:2012)International
HDC - Halal Development CorporationMalaysia
JAKIMMalaysia
MUIIndonesia
UAE StandardUnited Arab Emirates
MUISSingapore

What this means for Halal1

Halal1 products are audited according to the OIC/SMIIC 1:2012 standard (DHB-TS OIC/SMIIC 1:2012). The WHU certificate confirms compliance with the applicable requirements for raw materials, production, and the final product.

What is audited

The halal audit goes beyond the list of ingredients. It covers relevant raw material origins, additives, processing aids, and production steps. For this purpose, we provide the WHU with recipe, raw material, and production documentation.

Vegan is not the same as halal

Vegan and halal address different questions. A vegan label is not a substitute for halal certification. Conversely, a halal-certified product is not automatically vegan. What is in a product is stated on the respective product page.

What the certification does not indicate

Halal certification confirms the halal status of a product. Whether a product is suitable for you or your child is stated in the consumption recommendations and the information on the product page.
