  • Maltitol, sorbitol: Sugar substitutes. They sweeten without sugar, but can have a laxative effect in larger amounts.
  • Ashwagandha powder: The ground plant material of ashwagandha.
  • Pectins: A gelling agent from fruit. It replaces gelatine.
  • Citric acid: Provides the fresh taste.
  • Natural flavouring: Provides the berry flavour.
  • Spirulina powder: Powder from the microalga spirulina.
  • Carnauba wax, coconut oil: The anti-caking agents, so the gummies don't stick together.

The name ashwagandha comes from Sanskrit and roughly means 'smell of the horse', a reference to the smell of the fresh root. The German common names translate as 'sleep berry' and 'winter cherry'. It belongs to the nightshade family and grows in dry regions of India, the Middle East and Africa.
